Jared Goff used to own a Carson Palmer jersey and has learned from him
Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback will face Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals this weekend. Goff watched a lot of Palmer growing up.
In fact, the Rams rookie even told reporters during his press conference on Wednesday that he used to have his jersey when he was a kid. That shows the age gap between the two gunslingers that will match up on Sunday.
“I was big fan of his. He was good player, and still is. Does a great job with Arizona now and he’s been around the league. I think one of the few quarterbacks that’s gone from multiple teams and has been pretty good with all of them. It’s hard to do and he’s done a pretty good job of it.”
Goff also compared his struggles during his rookie season to how Palmer played to start his career.
“I think him and a lot of guys. You look around, a lot of guys ended up being really good, that as rookies weren’t very good. There’s prime examples in the league right now teams that have turned it around. In reference to us, I kind of expect a similar thing to happen in the future. ”
If Goff can have a similar career to Palmer, that would be huge for the Rams. Both were first team all Pac 12/Pac 10 when they were in college.
